Hugh Jackman really is a huge, jacked man.
Case in point: The actor's recent Instagram post detailing how he bulked up for Deadpool & Wolverine.
On Sept. 4, Hugh posted a steamy selfie of his ripped abs and rock-hard biceps, sharing that he's "grateful" to have had a strong support system by his side amid his transformation journey.
"I've had a lot of people talk to me or ask me questions about how I got into shape," he began in an accompanying audio recording, "and honestly, I just wanted to take a second to say, 'Yeah, I had to turn up and I had to do those dead lifts and I had to eat those meal, but I had an incredible team that helped me.'"
In addition to thanking his trainers Beth Lewis and Mike Ryan, as well as personal chefs Saul Brutton and Mario Spina, Hugh gave shoutouts to costar Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy for "making it easy" and working around his fitness schedule.
"'Tell me the date you want it when we're doing that power room scene with your shirt off,'" the 55-year-old recalled Ryan and Shawn asking him. "I said, 'I need it on this date and we can't move it'—and it was locked in."
Hugh also showed his appreciation for those who put up with his "grumpy" behavior that day, which he said was due to "eating tilapia and beans" and "not having water the night before" in preparation for the shirtless scene.
"It's really important to me that I acknowledge those people who have spent a lifetime doing what they do," Hugh said, after also shouting out makeup artist Whitney James for lathering his body with "fresh lube" to make his skin glisten on camera. "They're at the top of their game. They're the best in the world and I feel so privileged to have them in my corner."
And in keeping with humble Hugh fashion, the X-Men star joked that one shirtless Instagram photo was more than enough for his followers. As he captioned a follow-up post of himself bundled up in a cardigan, "…time to put some layers on."
Still, his fans couldn't get enough, with one commenter quipping, "The audacity of this man to look this good. With layers or without."
"You've been shirtless all year," a second fan wrote, "you deserve this."
